Tax deadline looming in Ireland

31 October 2016 is the pay and file deadline for income tax and capital acquisition tax. It is also the income tax preliminary tax payment date for tax year 2016.

Tax filings

It is the time of year for Halloween which also means tax payment and tax return filing deadlines loom.

31 October 2016 is the pay and file deadline for income tax for the tax year 2015.  It is also the preliminary tax deadline for tax year 2016.

31 October 2016 is also the pay and file deadline for capital acquisition tax, CAT, the tax payable on gifts and inheritances which have a valuation date in the period 1 September 2015 to 31 August 2016.

If you pay and make your tax return filings using the Revenue Commissioners Revenue Online System, ROS, the deadline is extended to 10 November 2016.
